Objective:
Students identify a service organization in the Bronx and try and communicate its importance to the community.
Activity:
A service organization wants everybody to know what it does in the community. The student’s assignment is to find out as much as possible about: what the organization does; why its work is significant; when it was founded; how its mission or activities may have evolved over time; who benefits from the activities; and where people can contact them. After researching the organization, the student will prepare a brochure, and give a short talk at an upcoming Bronx Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Concourse Plaza Hotel (see photos).
