Objective:
Students identify where people go for recreation, including parks, gardens, theaters, beaches, amusement areas, clubs or civic organization programs. They locate recreation sites on a map.
Activity:
Identify jobs people have at the site and write a “help wanted” advertisement for a job opening there. To create awareness of the site for the community, make a billboard advertisement or flier. Decide where you want the billboard to be placed or how you will distribute the fliers. Identify how the recreational site serves the community, and prepare a brief report on its activities for the Bronx Chamber of Commerce’s magazine Bronxboro.
