Grand Concourse Traverse Road

Construction of traverse road at the Grand Concourse and Fordham Rd. This road was designed by Louis F. Haffen, the first Borough President of the Bronx who also happened to be an engineer. Note the Bronx County flag displayed on the building to the right. Also note the use of fire escapes overhanging the sidewalks and later restricted on the Grand Concourse. displayed outside store on the right.
